Glove Boxes
The Donahue group has three nitrogen vacuum atmosphere glove boxes dedicated to crystal growing and solids and one UHP argon vacuum atmosphere box for highly sensitive compounds.
Glass Contour Solvent System
Our lab has a state-of-the-art solvent purification system from the Glass Contour Company. Seven commonly used solvents (THF, diethyl ether, benzenes, toluene, hexanes, pentane, and DCM) are dried by passage through alumina drying columns immediately prior to use.
Schlenk Lines
Each group member has a Schlenk line, which features a dual vacuum/inert gas manifold. The Schlenk is used for most of the air-sensitive synthesis done in the Donahue Group.
Electrochemical Workstation
The Donahue lab has a CHI-620C electrochemical workstation from CH Instruments of Austin, TX. The workstation is set up to do common electrochemistry experiments like cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and controlled potential voltammetry under a nitrogen atmosphere.
Rotary Evaporator
A rotary evaporator is available in the Donahue Lab to facilitate the synthetic work that can be done in the open air.
